Children’s birthday party at Hamburg Airport
An unforgettable experience
On the occasion of a children’s birthday party at Hamburg Airport, the kids will get to witness the day-to-day airport operations live and up close.
This special event for the little ones starts with an Airport Model Exhibition show. The children will have the chance to marvel at the entire airport on a scale of 1:500, including all the buildings, taxiways, runways and landing strips. More than 8000 tiny light-emitting diodes turn the miniature world into a sea of lights. The children will be provided with an insight into the handling and flight operations. They will be told about the beginnings of aviation or why a plane flies in a way that is appropriate for children. To round off the experience, model planes will take off for a brief flight before safely landing again.
Afterwards, the children will have the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the airport and see the planes up close on the occasion of an apron round trip. They will witness the hustle and bustle on the apron, the runway and the landing strips and will undoubtedly be fascinated by the sight of the heavy aircraft taking off. The children will realise how tiny the people and how huge the planes really are, and you can be sure that they will not forget this impressive experience in the foreseeable future! 
For a perfect end to a perfect day, it is possible to book a small party for the children in the bistro of the Model Exhibition or in Terminal 1. Whether hot dogs, chips, burgers or a big cake with birthday candles – the parents order the food when making the booking for the group. All the children have to do on the birthday is sit down at the table that has been prepared for them and enjoy.
Please note: Children’s birthday parties generally only take place on weekends. The persons accompanying the children (over 14 years of age) need to bring their ID or passport, or they will not be permitted to participate in the round trip!
