Organigram & Main Divisions
Hamburg Airport has divided the Airport’s core business into four main divisions: Aviation, Ground Handling, Center Management and Real Estate Management. These main corporate divisions sit above the Airport’s Business Divisions and provide planning, consulting and supervisory functions. The airport’s Support Companies assist Hamburg Airport and external customers by providing a specialised array of services.

Aviation
The core responsibility of the Aviation Division is to ensure that the airport runs smoothly and seamlessly in close cooperation with the airlines. Aviation is responsible for the continual optimisation of passenger traffic, airport logistics and the strategic development of cargo handling. Additionally, Aviation allocates parking positions on the apron and check-in desks in the terminal buildings. Also part of the Aviation portfolio is “Safety and Security” which includes the airport fire brigade and security services.
Ground Handling
The Ground Handling division controls all processes in ground handling and traffic services. Ground services include loading and unloading aircraft, aircraft cleaning services, pushback, bus transfers and passenger handling. Marketing these services is one of the main duties of the Ground Handling division. Operative ground traffic services are provided by the subsidiaries GroundSTARS, CATS, STARS and AHS Hamburg. These subsidiaries are assigned to Ground Handling, but are independent legal entities.
Center Management
All non-aviation activities are concentrated in the Center Management division. This division supervises and markets advertising space at the airport and all retail and catering activities. Car park management services and concessions for land-side traffic are also included in the Center Management portfolio. The division is responsible for organising events, operating the Airport Model and managing the airport advertising organisation SkyWorld.
Real Estate Management
The Real Estate Management division is responsible for developing the airport buildings and land, and marketing airport infrastructure to internal and external customers. In addition to classic property management services (offices rentals and site management), the division is also in charge of project development and construction services. The HAM 21 Extension project is integrated in this division.
